If your TapXR update fails, do not panic! Please try again using the steps below.
For Android user:
1. Turn off and on your android device, to rule out any Bluetooth hardware fault.
2. Unpair, if possible, any unconnected devices (headsets, speakers, etc). You can re-pair them after update process completed.
Why this may help; some Samsung devices have a limited bluetooth stack, causing issues when too many BLE devices are paired.
3. Make sure the TapXR is not paired to any other device/turn off bluetooth on other paired devices. Why this may help; while updating your Tap, the device will restart and may jump to another, stronger connection.
4. Clear Data and Cache of TapManager (Settings -> TapManager -> Storage and Cache -> click “Clear Storage” and “Clear Cache”.
5. Reset your Bluetooth protocol: navigate to your phone's Settings > Connected devices > Bluetooth, then clear the Bluetooth cache by going to the app info for "Bluetooth" and selecting "Clear Cache" - this effectively resets your Bluetooth connections without deleting your paired devices
Try running the update again, ensuring the following:
1) Make sure the TAP is physically placed close to the android device to rule out communication issues.
2) During the Update process, please avoid using the android device for any other purpose, and do not minimize the app “TapManager” to the background. Keep it running in the foreground.
For iOS users:
1. Make sure the TapXR is not paired to any other device, only for one device - the one that’s running the update.
2. During the Update process, please avoid using your iOS device for any other purpose, and do not minimize the app “TapManager” to the background. Keep it running in the foreground.
If none of this helps, please contact support@tapwithus.com with your TapManager email.
