If your TapXR update fails, do not panic! Please try again using the steps below.
For Android user:
1. Turn off and on your android device, to rule out any Bluetooth hardware fault.
2. Unpair, if possible, any unconnected devices (headsets, speakers, etc). You can re-pair them after update process completed.
Why this may help; some Samsung devices have a limited bluetooth stack, causing issues when too many BLE devices are paired.
3. Make sure the TapXR is not paired to any other device/turn off bluetooth on other paired devices. Why this may help; while updating your Tap, the device will restart and may jump to another, stronger connection.
4. Ensure that the TapManager app has the required permissions in your phone settings
Go to Settings -> Apps -> TapManager -> Permissions. Note this may be slightly different depending on your Android version.
4. Clear Data and Cache of TapManager (Settings -> TapManager -> Storage and Cache -> click “Clear Storage” and “Clear Cache”. This will not affect your other Bluetooth devices.
5. Reset your Bluetooth Protocol: Reset your Bluetooth protocol: under settings > system > advanced > reset > Bluetooth. Please note this will reset your other Bluetooth devices so they will need to be reconnected after.
While the update is running, ensuring the following:
1) Make sure the TAP is physically placed close to the android device to rule out communication issues.
2) During the Update process, please avoid using the android device for any other purpose, and do not minimize the app “TapManager” to the background. Keep it running in the foreground.
3) Ensure you have a strong, stable internet connection.
For iOS users:
1. Make sure the TapXR is not paired to any other device, only for one device - the one that’s running the update.
2. During the Update process, please avoid using your iOS device for any other purpose, and do not minimize the app “TapManager” to the background. Keep it running in the foreground.
If none of this helps, please contact support@tapwithus.com with your TapManager email.
